Trust In Jesus

As a member of the Armed Forces, you may at some point in time be called upon to defend this country in a time of war or be called to battle on foreign turf. It is also a reality you might not return from the battle. While nobody likes to think of such a thought, it nonetheless is something which must be addressed. We are all one heartbeat away from eternity which will be heaven for some and hell for others. Nobody can see if they will still be around tomorrow. This is why we are told in the Bible, “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” (Proverbs 27:1) If you have not put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I whole-heartedly encourage you to do so now.
  1. ADMIT you are a sinner. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
  2. REPENT of your sins. “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19)Repentence is a turning away from sin to the Savior.
  3. RECEIVE Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (John 1:12, Romans 10:13)

No Fear Of Death

“Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:1) As a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ, you can now rest assured that no matter what happens, you have peace with God. There is no need to fear death or judgment day for your sins have been forgiven through the risen Savior. All those who are His children are promised resurrection to eternal life in heaven and immortal, incorruptible bodies that will never die and never grow old. “...for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:52, 54-55, 57) Praise the LORD!

Psalm 91 - A Mighty Fortress

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust. Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the Most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known My Name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him My salvation.”

Call on Christ today to be your Lord and Savior, and you will be able to stare death in the face and shout:
“O death I have no fear of thee, for Christ my Savior died for me!”
